Orange  Butter Cake

 

1+ c. sugar                    3/4 c. butter (1 1/2 sticks)

3 eggs                                      1 T. lemon juice

1 1/2 t. vanilla                3/4 c. orange juice

2 c. flour                        1/4 t. salt

2 t. baking powder          Orange peel ~ ( 1T)

 

Beat sugar & butter until creamy.  Beat in eggs one at a time. Add all dry ingredients and mix.  Add all the liquid ingredients except about 1/2 c. of the orange juice and beat.  Add remaining orange juice and beat well. Pour into greased pan and bake at 350 degrees - until done.

Small 9x13: 40-45 min., 2 layers: 23-25 min.
