Texas Sheet Cake

 

1 stick (1/2 c.) margarine

½ cup salad oil

¼ - ½ cup cocoa

1 cup water

   -- Put in sauce pan and bring to boil

2 cups flour

2 cups sugar

  -- Mix together then pour over boiled mixture and stir

 

 

½ cup buttermilk

1 tsp. Baking soda

1 tsp. Vanilla

2 eggs

  -- Mix well and add to flour/boiled mixture

 

Pour into 11”x17” greased jelly roll pan. 

Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.

Let sit for 10 minutes, then cover with warm

  Texas Sheet Cake Frosting.

 

 

 

            Texas Sheet Cake Frosting

 

1 stick (1/2 c.) margarine

¼ c. cocoa

6 Tbls. buttermilk

  -- Bring above mixture to boil then mix in:

1 box (1 1b.) powdered sugar

1 tsp. Vanilla

½ cup chopped pecans.
