Mrs. Gunter's Teacakes (cookies)

 

3 c. sugar (ribbon cane) syrup     \  mix

1 c. oil                                      /

1/2 c. sour milk

2 t. soda

1 t. baking powder

2 T. ginger

Flour (about 6-7 c.) to dropping consistency.

 

Mix syrup & oil.  Add 3 c. flour and rest of dry ingredients all at once. Mix.  Alternate adding milk and rest of flour.  Drop by spoonfuls on greased baking sheet.  Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.

Makes a soft, cake-like cookie.
