Vadoma's Amazing Carmel Sauce

Makes about 1 ½ cups
1 c. brown sugar
½ c. cream
4 T (¼ c.) butter
pinch of salt if butter is unsalted
1 T. vanilla
Melt butter in saucepan. Mix in brown sugar, cream, and salt. Cook over medium heat and whisk gently for about 7 minutes or so. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla. Pour into glass jar and store in refrigerator. Wonderful on vanilla ice cream or in coffee. When it is cold you can dip apple slices in it.
