Sourdough Biscuits

 

1 pkg. yeast (2 ½ t.)     ½ c. warm water

1 c. buttermilk               ¼ c. oil

2 T. sugar                      1 t. salt

1 ¾ t. baking powder  1/8 t. soda

1 c, + 2 ½ c. flour

 

Oven 425.  Mix all ingredients except the last 2 ½ c. flour.  Once it is evenly mixed and the yeast dissolved, mix in remaining flour.  Knead lightly, roll out and cut. Placed on greased baking sheet an brush tops with melted butter or margarine.  Let rise 15 min. in a warm place.  Bake for about 15 min.

Makes 15 biscuits.
