Jan Hagel Cookies


2 c. flour                        1 t. cinnamon

1 c. sugar                      1/2 t. salt

1 c. butter, softened            1 c. sliced almonds

1 egg, separated         


Oven 350. Combine flour, sugar, butter egg yolk, cinnamon and salt.  Mix well. Divide dough into halves.  Press each half onto an ungreased cookie sheet to 1/16 inch thickness. Beat egg white until

foamy. Brush over dough. Sprinkle with nuts.  Bake 12-15 min., until very lightly browned.  Immediately cut into squares and remove from pan. (3-4 doz.)
