Caramel Frosting (A similar recipe, using condensed milk, was given to me by Susan Tiner, for her holiday spice cake.)


1/2 c. butter

1 c. brown sugar

c. milk

1 t. vanilla

2 c. powdered sugar


Melt butter. Stir in brown sugar and heat to boiling and stir for 2 minutes. Stir in milk and reheat to boiling. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla and mix until smooth. (If mixture becomes too stiff add additional milk, 1 t. at a time.)
