Royal Icing – Meringue Powder

 (Austin American Statesman – Penny’s cookies)


6 T. warm water             3 T. meringue powder

3 ˝ c. confectioner’s sugar        

˝ t. cream of tarter


Beat all ingredients at high speed with electric mixer for 7 to 10 minutes until stiff.  Keep covered with a damp cloth. 


Meringue powder is available at cake decorating and craft stores.
