Red Cabbage

2 T. butter

¼ c. sugar

5 cups shredded red cabbage

2 ¼ t. salt

1 c. peeled and sliced granny smith apples

¼ t. pepper

¼ t. ground cloves

1/3 c. apples cider vinegar

3 T. water

Put all ingredients in a large pot. Bring to boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer until tender, 1 -2 hours.
